Wisdom like a mountain, samadhi like a stone
Solitary like the pine, they like to work alone
But with a boat of vows, they take us all across
Their sacrifices never cease, they work around the clock

And their virtue holds the world together
From past to present ages
And on into the future
Let us praise the holy sages

When the bad times come upon us, and there’s misery all around
The sages don’t forsake us; they just go underground
They teach the path of goodness, of leaving selfishness
