It is open to visitors every day from 8 a.m. - 6 p.m.

By Car：

Coming from the South (e.g. Bay Area or San Francisco)

      1. Cross the Golden Gate Bridge and drive up I-101 North for approximately two hours.
      2. Exit "Talmage Road" from I-101.
      3. Right turn on Talmage Road and drive for about five minutes.
      4. Talmage Road ends at the entrance to the City of Ten Thousand Buddhas (picture below).

 

Coming from the North (e.g. Willits)

      1. Take I-101 South.
      2. Exit Talmage Rd., and bear left
      3. Turn left onto Talmage Rd (you should be heading east).
      4. Drive until you see the Front Gate.

By Plane:

You may fly into San Francisco Airport (SFO), Oakland Airport (OAK), or Sonoma Airport.

From San Francisco Airport (SFO):

By Rental Car: Driving is the most direct option, taking about 2h 20m to 2h 45m, depending on traffic in the Bay Area.

Directions: From SFO, take US-101 North toward San Francisco, then transition to I-80 East/Bay Bridge. Follow signs to stay on US-101 North toward Eureka/San Rafael. Continue on US-101 North for approximately 110 miles to Ukiah.

Exit: Take Exit 549 (Perkins St/Vichy Springs Rd) and turn left toward downtown Ukiah.

Enterprise Rental Car

By Airporter:

Direct Airporter service is no longer available between Ukiah and San Francisco. You must now take, an aiporter (Sonoma County Airport Express) to Santa Rosa and a bus (CC Rider) from there.

Heading North: From San Francisco Airport to Santa Rosa then to Ukiah:

After exiting the airport, ask to find the Sonoma County Airport Express Bus. You must take the bus that departs by 12:30 p.m. to catch the 3:05 p.m. bus from Santa Rosa to Ukiah.

Getting off at the last stop in Santa Rosa (Sonoma County Airport), take the CC Rider bus and get off at Ross in the Peartree Center. You should arrive around 4:05 p.m.


Amtrak Thruway Bus:

Amtrak operates a Thruway Connecting Service bus (Route 7) that travels between Santa Rosa and Ukiah, CA, typically taking about 1 hour and 15 minutes. This bus connects passengers from Santa Rosa (often the Coddingtown Transit Center) to Ukiah's Pear Tree Center, usually running twice daily.

Amtrak Thruway Bus (not a train).

Santa Rosa Stops: Often departs from the Amtrak Thruway Bus Stop at 2012 Range Ave (Coddingtown Center) .

Ukiah Stop: Arrives at the Pear Tree Center (near Ross).

Groome Transportation from San Francisco Airport:

Groome Airport Shuttle: Take the airport shuttle (groometransportation.com) to Sonoma County Airport, and then take the MTA or Uber/Lift to Ukiah.

After arriving in Ukiah, call the following numbers to get a ride to the City of 10,000 Buddhas.

Heading South: From Ukiah to Santa Rosa to San Francisco Airport:

The #65 bus (CC Rider) with the Mendocino Transit Authority (MTA) goes to Santa Rosa (Sonoma County Airport) twice a day, departing at 9:20 a.m. (Monday - Sunday), and
1:15 a.m. (Monday - Saturday only) from Ross at the Peartree Center in Ukiah and arriving at the Sonoma County Airport (you must request a drop off there) at 10:20 a.m. or 2:20 p.m.

Then transfer to the Sonoma County Airport Express (10:45 a.m. or 1:45 p.m.) to arrive at the San Francisco Airport at 1:15 p.m. or 4:15 p.m.
